Registration Information
Men's and Women's teams that would like to compete in the 2023 Hong Kong Lacrosse Open are required to submit an HKD$1,000 registration deposit before January 8th, 2023.
HKLA encourages teams with a substantial pool of committed players to register their team for selection.
HKLA will accept up to 10 men’s teams and 10 women’s teams. The final list of selected teams will be released before February 1st, 2023. The registration fees will be returned to those teams not selected. For those teams selected, the registration fees will be deducted from the total tournament fee. This fee will not be returned to accepted teams that do not attend the tournament. Payment of the full tournament fee is only required after teams are officially accepted.
The total team fee for the Men’s and Women’s tournament is HK$20,000. This fee is due by February 14th, 2023 for accepted teams.
The registration deposit will NOT be returned to teams that are selected but withdraw from the tournament following the team selection announcement.

Rules and Length of the Games
Men’s Games
Rules: World Lacrosse 2021-2023 Rules of Men’s Field Lacrosse Officially Playing Rules
Length of the game: Four quarters of 15 min with 2/4/2 min intervals
Each team is allowed ONE timeout (90 sec) per half
No overtime for pool games
Overtime will only be played following any playoff game that remains a tie at the end of regulation. Teams will play 4-min sudden-death periods until the game is decided
No team timeouts are given during OT
Reminders: Mouth guards are now a mandatory piece of personal equipment
Women’s Games
Rules: World Lacrosse 2022-2024 Women’s Lacrosse Rules
Length of the game: Four quarters of 15 min with 2/4/2 min intervals
Each team is allowed ONE timeout (90 sec) per half

Youth Festival Registration
The Youth Festival will take place on Saturday, April 9th and Sunday, April 10th, 2023. There will be one age bracket only for up to15 years old. The format will be a modified sixes format base on the WL Olympic Sixes rules. Teams should not exceed 15 players. The Youth Festival Participation fee is HK$2500 and will be due before February 14th, 2023. This fee is non-refundable. Team Information
- Please note that accepted teams will be asked to submit finalized team information before March 1st, 2023. This information will include: A full team roster with first and last names (and number), headshots of each player, a high quality team logo, and a short paragraph describing the origins of the team.
Souvenirs
- We encourage teams to prepare a small souvenir to exchange with opposing teams following each match.
Awards Ceremony
- The award ceremony will take place following the championshipgames. HKLA encourages teams to stay to congratulate the winners and celebrate the completion of the tournament.
Tournament Social
- HKLA invites all players and coaches to attend a tournament social on Sunday, April 9th, 2023. Additional details concerning the time andlocation of the dinner will be released as they are available. The dinner will be HK$400 for those not listed on team rosters.
Ticketing
- Tickets will be required for spectators. Details will be released closer to the tournament date.
